A Heart for India
A Heart for India is an exciting new project that utilizes art to bridge the world of the poorest children in Goa, India with other children around the world. The goal is to bring artistic education and fun to the many street/slum children and orphans of India. Check out how you can get involved.
A Heart for India is a social/artistic project created by
Annique Mahieu and Dirk Thienpont.

Dear Friends-
To start this project, we created a provisional website, www.heartsforindia.weebly.com
We would like to invite the Burning Man community to take a look at our very first steps;
We're going to create "all about hearts", simulate with Belgian
children connecting with Indian street/slum children and orphans.
But we're inviting same-minded artists to our Heart Gallery too....
Ideas, feedback and creations are most welcome...
This is the startup of our project, we want to continue this concept in
the following years, to build up a foundation for artistic development,
and creative fun possibilities for orphans and street/slum children of
India. One of the ideas is to create art on wheels, to reach the
children easily. And help them express themselves.
For the moment (06.01.10 till 31.03.10) Dirk Thienpont is in Goa,
India, doing fieldwork for our project. To get information about the
street/slum children, child rescue organisations and check the
possibilities.

We would like to reach out especially to the Burners Without Borders Community.
Are there burners, traveling or living in the area of Goa for the moment?

Are there people interested to get involved with" A HEART FOR INDIA"?
We're also looking for connections to build up a yearly non-profit exhibition to raise funds for the street children .
We would be pleased to connect with you, and are interested in your response to this project
Thanks,
Annique Mahieu and Dirk Thienpont
