For the past three years, BWB's Will Ruddick has been leading innovative community development projects in Kenya, including an alternative currency program in the slums of Nairobi. Will is currently the Field Director for a School Based Environmental Education and Reforestation program in Kenya that has planted thousands of trees just in the past year. Ecological Money Program
BWB's Will Ruddick has created an exciting new Ecological Money program in a slum outside of Mombasa Kenya that is improving the quality of life for those who participate. BWB is proud to support this project and will be looking to bring alternative currency programs like these in communities we serve in Peru.

BWB is working in Joannesburg, South Africa to creatively assist in the improvement of the lives of the communities most in need. We are identifying projects and partners for collaborations that leverage the skills and resources we have to offer.

BWB Peru Phase II !!
As many of you know, BWB volunteers answered the call to action in responding to the devastating earthquake that struck Peru on August 15th, 2007. At the close of our operations we welcomed over 350 volunteers and gifted over 54,000 volunteer hours. Yet the assisted formation of Pisco Sin Fronteras is beginning to prove the most substantial impact we've made so far. PSF is now a fully functioning Peruvian NGO, but the support of this community is as important as ever. Find out how you can get involved today!!
Haiti-Get Involved
Just days after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, BWB was supporting successful relief efforts that made a real difference in the lives of the Haitian people. Through our partnership with European Disaster Volunteers and Communitere, BWB continues to support sustainable solutions that work.
10 Years and Counting
September 11, 2001- October 7, 2011 marks the ten year anniversary of our nation continuously at war. 10 Years + Counting invites artists and others to take this historic moment as inspiration and use the power of creativity to illustrate the costs of war and imagine a more peaceful world.

Protecting the Amazon by Design
Since 2010 designer Violeta Villacorta has been working with Cofán women artisans in Ecuador and with Peruvian indigenous Amazon communities through the Deep in Forests network, bridging contemporary design with their traditional arts and crafts. Seeing the importance of keeping these areas intact and its cultures thriving to protect their territories, she is collaborating with artisans by creating quality goods to promote their arts and broaden their markets to generate sustainability for their communities.
