When Hurricane Katrina blew onto the shore of the Gulf Coast, her winds reached all the way to the Black Rock Desert, and changed the way the way participants see themselves and their place in the world.

When word hit the temporary desert community of Black Rock City, Burning Man participants galvanized into action, collecting thousands of dollars, food, clothing and other donations for the survivors of the ravaged Gulf Coast.
