Starma Circus

BWB is partnering with Starma Circus to provide a portion of the resources needed to bring live circus performances to low income area's public spaces. $500 of the communities money will be used to offset materials (hoops, stilts, props, etc), transportation, and administration.

This summer Starma Circus (www.starma.org) will be providing !Suddenly Circus! Interactive Circus Experiences free of charge in parks located in lower income areas throughout Somerville, Massachusetts. Drawing together children and families from our past school years’ circus programs and bringing our circus spirit and props to public spaces we will be collaborating to create a spectacle and experience that absolutely anyone walking by can join.
Starma Circus was created by Jenn Bliss and Cathy Diebold in September of 2008 with the mission to provide creative circus arts programming to our local community that is accessible to children of all ethnicities and income levels. Having expanded to a part time teaching staff of 5, we provide childrens’ circus arts classes free of charge within economically challenged and racially diverse neighborhoods. Throughout the past school year we have successfully provided afterschool circus programming at 3 local schools as well as a local community arts center.
